*Latest Covid-19 related policies for inbound travelers in Taiwan

*Arrival and Leaving Taipei (International Bank Card accepted) :

  1. Hotel Information
  2. Airport Taoyuan Metro
  3. Taiwan High-speed rail

You only need to buy your tickets when you are in the place.

From Taoyuan Airport, take the metro to the stop A18 (Taoyuan HSR Station), then transfer to the High-speed rail for "Nangang Station"(The terminal station). The hotel is 7 minutes on foot from the Nangang station.

*Eating places: There are two shopping malls and a lot of restaurants and food courts in the Nangang Station. For further information: CityLink & the Global Mall.

*From the hotel to the meeting place

It will take 30 minutes on foot from the Green World Hotel, Nangang to the meeting place (The second meeting room in the Archives of the Institute of Modern History, Academia Sinica).  Map

There are several buses (270, 212, Blue 25) close to the hotel that goes to the meeting place.  Go out of the hotel and turn right, get on a bus at the stop 國家文官學院  Guojia Wenguan Xueyuan (National Academy of Civil Service) and get off at the stop of 中研院 Zhong Yan Yuan (Academia Sinica).  It may be a little crowded in the bus during rush hour.

To take a bus, you will need to prepare coins (15 Taiwan Dollars) or an "Easy Card"(Youyou Ka, 悠遊卡).  You can buy an easy card at any Taipei Metro Station or the convenient stores (7-11, FamilyMart, Hi-life and OK-mart).  The nearest metro station to your hotel is the Nangang Metro Station,  which is in the same building of the Nangang HSR station.  An Easy Card costs 100 Taiwan Dollars.  It can be used not only in transportation but also in various shops and restaurants.   For more information: Taipei Metro, EASYCARD

*Nangang is usually rainy in winter.  A folding umbrella is necessary.  Because of humidity, when the temperature is below 20 degree Celsius, people may feel as cold as it is about zero degree in dryer places.  There is not heating system in most building in Taiwan (including our meeting room), a sweater is helpful.  However, if you forget to bring one, it is easy to get one in the malls near the hotel.  It is still mandatory to wear a mask in rooms and vehicles.
